Main Group Chemistry
The use of donor ligands to stabilize low-valent main-group atoms has become an active field of experimental and theoretical research. Experimental work reported so far comprises a variety of complexes from the groups 13-15. We use state-of-the-art quantum mechanical methods to understand the physicochemical factors that stabilize these compounds. Our research interest consists of understanding the basic principles that stabilize the molecules, quantify electronic effects and design new molecules.
